State Quarter Coin Ring – State Quarter Coin History

State Quarter Coin History

Some interesting history before deciding on a State Quarter Coin Ring.

At Artisan Mint Works. We use standard clad state quarters for our coin rings, and today I would like to outline some of the coin’s history for you.

The State Quarters I use for my State Quarter Coin rings were minted between 1999 and 2008. The State Quarters are in uncirculated condition and make wonderful rings. I do use a skin safe professional grade sealant, Protectaclear, to prevent discoloration.

The State Quarter Program

All State Quarters were produced from 1999 to 2008 by the US Mint. and was the result of the State Quarter Program, which featured each of the 50 states on the quarters. The State Quarter Program started to inspire a new generation of coin collectors, and went on to become the most successful coin collecting program in history. In 2009, the State Quarter Program was followed by the 2009 District of Columbia and U.S. Territories Program.

The dates of release

The State Quarters were released in the order in which each of the 50 states ratified the constitution.  Five quarter designs were released per year. The beginning of the program started with Delaware in 1999, and ending with Hawaii in 2008.

The date of mint does not reflect the date of the coins. The date on the coins reflect when each of the states became part of the Union.

Artisan Mint Works

The Artisan Mint story

Thank you for your interest in Artisan Mint Works. Most of the coin rings and jewelry I make are made from recycled materials and circulated coins. Because they are circulated, some may have small nicks, scratches and wear. I will always try to pick the best coins that will make good quality jewelry and rings. However there can sometimes be very minor flaws.

Make sure you have an accurate ring size

If you purchase a coin ring from Artisan Mint Works, please be sure to measure for an accurate ring size. If I make the ring to the size you specify and it does not fit, I will resize it for free. Please keep in mind, I cannot offer refunds as these are custom made to order rings. But I will always do my best to make you happy with your purchase.

Make sure you know your ring size. If you are not sure of the size ring you wear, you should get your ring finger measured at any jewelry store.

I ask for you to keep within the sizes I recommend in the description for each coin. If you are looking at a ring but would like it sized other than what I recommend, contact me first for a quote.

How will your handcrafted ring look?

Depending on the coin and size made. Some bands will either flat, slightly tapered, or rounded on both sides. If you intend to wear your ring on a daily basis, it’s probably best to select a silver or gold coin.

All my jewelry is handcrafted and usually made to order. Only the finest materials are used, mainly pure copper, silver, and stainless steel, and other recycled materials are used in production. However please keep in mind that non silver jewelry made from coins may contain nickle. If you are sensitive to nickle you might wish to go with silver options. I cannot be held liable for any skin reactions.

Prices and ordering from Artisan Mint Works

My prices are fairly consistent. However, some jewelry and coin rings may cost more or less depending on the type of coin, its date and availability. So prices may change at any time.

The jewelry displayed in the Gallery are samples of what yours will look like. All jewelry is custom made to order.

Recycling is important to our environment. Support the cause!

Thank you for buying your handcrafted jewelry from The Artisan Mint Works. Also be sure to check out my Etsy page as well!
